At Makoce’s annual Convergence event, Substance Architecture proudly presented an exciting design update for Phase 1 of the Food Systems District, showcasing the schematic design for a state-of-the-art 45,000 square foot food hub facility. This new structure is poised to become a cornerstone of infrastructure in the Oglala Lakota community, playing a vital role in Makoce's vision of establishing a sustainable and functioning food system. The food hub will serve as a central space for processing, distributing, and educating the community about food systems, fostering self-sufficiency and resilience.
Our team is deeply honored to collaborate with Makoce, whose dedicated efforts and guidance are integral to the success of this project. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Makoce team and look forward to working together to bring this transformative vision to life, enhancing food access and sovereignty for the Oglala Lakota community. Stay tuned for more updates as we move forward on this important journey!
