The façade design for the new Iowa Gymnastics and Spirit Squad Training Facility draws from the fluid dynamics of both gymnasts' and the spirit squad’s choreographed movements. By deconstructing their spatial and kinetic patterns, we introduced a series of articulated extrusions in the metal panel system, creating a rhythm that wraps the building’s envelope. This design approach translates the synchronicity, energy, and precision of their routines into an architectural expression, reinforcing the connection between performance and built form.
